Our History

In 2005, brothers and Wichita natives Ryan and Anthony met Tory for the first time and began a friendship forged by their passion for exceptional food and hospitality. They carried a deep love for Wichita, and aspired to contribute something special to its culture. This shared dream would eventually bring a unique and elevated dining experience to the heart of Kansas.

The trio’s dream gained momentum when they were introduced to Brad, Mark, and Michelle White. The Whites are the children of the original owners of Happiness Plaza, the iconic College Hill landmark opened in 1968. They agreed to sell Happiness Plaza to Ryan, Anthony, and Tory after bonding over a shared love of the history and culture of Wichita.

They named their new restaurant after the historic Belmont Street in the College Hill neighborhood of Wichita. Steeped in history and charm, Belmont Street is the perfect namesake for a venture aimed to celebrate the spirit of Wichita while offering a modern and unique dining experience.

Since it opened its doors in 2020, the Belmont has married the traditional and the innovative. With its roots firmly planted in the Wichita soil, we invite diners on a journey through every dish served.

Becky Reynolds
General Manager

Proudly hailing from Wichita, Becky brings an impressive 21 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Her journey began at The Belmont, where she started as a bartender, quickly ascending through the ranks to Bar Lead, Manager, and ultimately, General Manager. 

Beyond her managerial prowess, Becky is the mastermind behind “Sparky's," the renowned pop-up bar at Christmas.

As Becky continues to shape the landscape of the hospitality world, her passion for creating memorable experiences and fostering a winning team culture remains at the forefront of her endeavors.

Jen Reifschneider
Head Chef

Jen’s passion for cooking started when her family moved to Wichita when she was in fourth grade. She honed her culinary artistry at the Art institute of Colorado. After returning to Wichita, had a meteoric rise in her career, becoming head chef of the Woodfire Grille within a year. The Belmont was lucky enough to have her join the team in January 2024.

Chef Jen is renowned for her commitment to perfection in every aspect of her craft. "I believe in making everything from scratch, using the best ingredients we can source, and creating a memorable dining experience for our guests." 

This dedication to culinary excellence has become the hallmark of Chef Jen's kitchen, where every dish is a testament to her passion, creativity, and unwavering pursuit of perfection.
